Tonight's Jam...

This song came on  my Rhye station on Pandora and I haven't stopped listening to yet.

Rhye

I LOVE finding new music!!!
Kinfolk Magazine recently posted a playlist on Facebook to welcome Spring. Rhye was on it twice. When their songs came on, I had to literally stop and see who it was. They are the epitome of the type of music I listen to and a fair reflection of my life.
Their sound is like mellowed out old-school rock slow jams with a hint of jazz and sometimes funk. LITERALLY!!
And like every other amazing artist I find, I created a station on Pandora. Everything that comes on there is awesome as well.
This morning, I saw this old school Jeep, maybe from the late 80's to 90's; it was blue and it was cool. I pictured my self driving with the windows down and flipping the cassette tape to side B and this was the type of music I was listening to. Also, in this picture, I pictured myself with an Afro.
I was thee coolest!

Rhye has only had one album (Woman) which was released March 5. This kind of upsets me a bit because I usually find artists that have been around for quite a while and have had at least three albums. That way, I could enjoy catching up on all of their past excellentness (just made that word up). With Rhye, I now have to wait God-knows-how-long for new music from them.

Here's to hoping they pull a Rihanna and make an album a year for seven years. Till then the songs I'm addicted to will be on repeat.
My Favorites:
1. Open
2.The Fall
5. Shed Some Blood
6. 3 Days
9. Hunger
(You can listen to the whole album on Spotify or Download it on iTunes)

A Kiss Goodnight 2...

Bad Girls(Verdine Version) - Solange Knowles

Ruby Sparks

Ruby. Bloody. Sparks.
Where the ef do I begin?
This movie was absolutely amazing. It definitely was not your average love story. It was different and refreshing and lovely.
I'm not gonna lie, being a writer, I kinda wish this was actually possible. But then again, do you know how many perfect people would be walking around here? And their creators would need a serious psychiatrist. Thank God for fiction. I loved the characters. The story line was brilliant. It didn't end the way I predicted, but it was better.

*Adds to favorite movie list*

A Kiss Goodnight...

Good Vibes

Time To Change...

So.
I am a senior Journalism major in college. I "graduate" in December, well, officially in May 'cause I have 1 mandatory course left to take that's only offered in the Spring. Yeah, I know. Anyways, I have a blog and have had several of the course of my college life that I don't keep up with. It's not that I don't want to, It's just I wanna do so much and I don't have the time and all of the equipment. But as I said, I am about to graduate and as a journalist these days you kinda have to have a blog and be able to keep up with it.

With that being said, I ma making a promise to myself and swearing on all the magazines I hope to work for that I will post as often as I can. I'm going to start with a goal of one post a week. And this blog won't just be about my amaze-balls photo skills but, about my love for all things artsy. Fashion, music, books, writing, movies, you get the point. I will also go on rants. I like those. I have deep opinions about things and I'll rant if I wanna 'cause this is my blog, my outlet, my way of sharing myself with and inspiring those I've never met before.

Sidebar: I'm currently listening to "Bright Lights" x Gary Clark Jr., and it's giving me all this confidence that I'm actually gonna keep this bad boy up. This song is just cool as hail!

I got this. I'm a writer. I'm a blogger and I've got s__t I wanna share.

Now playing: "Giving Up The Gun" x Vampire Weekend

Let's GO!
